Jøtul North America, Inc - Warranty Policy for Wood-burning Products
Effective: January 1, 2012
Jøtul North America, Inc extends the following warranty coverage to the original purchaser of a Jøtul wood-burning stove or wood-burning fireplace insert in North America.
Lifetime Coverage:
Parts only Limited Lifetime coverage is extended to the baffles due to defects in materials and workmanship.
Parts only Limited Lifetime coverage is extended to air manifolds against warping due to defects in materials or workmanship.
Full 5 Year Coverage:
Jøtul North America, Inc will replace any part of the stove found to be defective due to defects in materials and workmanship. Some exclusions apply. Please see Exclusion below.
Full 1 Year Coverage:
Jøtul North America, Inc will replace any electrical component found to be defective due to defectives is materials of workmanship (blowers, switches, etc).
Conditions:
This warranty is void if installation or service is performed by someone other than an authorized installer or service agency, or if installation is not in conformance with the installation and operating instructions contained in this owner’s manual or local and/or national fire and building regulations. A listing of local authorized installers, service agencies and gas suppliers can be obtained from the National Fireplace Institute at http://www.nficertified.org/.
Any part that shows evidence of a defect in material or workmanship will be repaired, replaced or refunded by Jøtul North America, Inc. Evidence of a defect will be determined by Jøtul North America, Inc or an Authorized Dealer of Jøtul Group product. Defective parts may be required to be returned to Jøtul North America, Inc at user’s expense.
Exclusions:
Limited Lifetime Coverage – Lifetime coverage is limited to the repair, replacement or refund of the covered parts at the sole discretion of Jøtul North America, Inc.
The following parts are excluded from this warranty: Firebrick, gaskets, wear items (grates, burn plates, etc) and ceramic insulating blankets.
Ceramic glass is warranted against thermal breakage only.
This warranty does not apply to any part that exhibits signs of misuse, abuse, improper installation, accident or improper/lack of maintenance.
Jøtul North America, Inc shall in no event be liable for any special, indirect or consequential damage of any nature which are in excess of the original wholesale purchase price of the product.
Jøtul North America, Inc is not responsible for installation, operational or environmental conditions beyond its control.
Jøtul North America, Inc may at its discretion discharge all obligations by refunding the wholesale price of any defective part or appliance.
At owner’s expense parts or appliances may be required to be returned to the nearest Authorized Jøtul Group Dealer or Jøtul North America, Inc for repair.
