Most modular fireplaces are installed directly on a wooden floor, with a steel plate underneath.
The number of components that need to be assembled depends on the size of the fireplace, but there are usually only a few components and they are easy to assemble. You will need an angle grinder or saw, if you have to cut out space for the pipe.
Read the user instructions before you get started. Most people can successfully assemble the simplest fireplaces in a day, with the slightly larger models requiring a bit more time. All fireplaces are supplied unpainted. Once the fireplace has been fitted you should check for any roughness in the concrete. Use the enclosed glue for this. To achieve the best possible result, you should rub the fireplace down with sandpaper and polish away any rough surfaces and sharp edges before you paint it. Floor plates and shelves come as optional extras for most models.
Your Jøtul dealer can help you with the complete installation process.
