Jøtul Warranty


Warranty Policy & Procedures

 

 

Jøtul offers the original retail purchaser of Jøtul North America wood-burning products a limited 5-year warranty. The following outlines the Jøtul Warranty programs. A copy of the warranty is included in each Jøtul Stove, Insert or Fireplace along with a warranty information card. You should encourage your customers to complete this card and return it to Jøtul as soon as possible.

 

Jøtul Limited Warranty

 

Jøtul warrants, to the original retail purchaser, that this Stove, Insert or Fireplace will be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of five years from the date of purchase. Jøtul will repair or replace, (parts and labor) at its option, any stove, insert, fireplace or part thereof found to be defective.

 

You must, at your own expense, arrange to deliver or ship the stove/insert/fireplace or part to an authorized Jøtul dealer and arrange for pickup or delivery of same after the repairs have been made. If, upon inspection, any damage is found to be the fault of the manufacturer, the repair or replacement will be made. This warranty does not include expenses incurred from travel time or loss of service. This warranty is not transferable and is extended only to, and is solely for the benefit of, the original retail purchaser of the stove/insert/fireplace. Please retain your dated sales receipt in your records as proof of purchase.

 

Exclusions and Limitations

 

This warranty does not cover the following:

 

  1. Repair or replacement of parts, which are subject to normal wear and tear during the warranty period or to parts that, may require replacement in connection with normal maintenance. These parts include paint, gaskets, burn plates, baffles, fire grates or glass (glass is only warranted against thermal breakage).


  2. Damage due to incorrect installations not in conformance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions, local and national regulations. It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that the unit is installed and operating correctly at the time of installation.


  3. Damage caused by overfiring, which causes any part of the appliance to glow red, as defined in the operation manual.  Overfiring can be identified by warped plates, rust colored cast iron, paint pigment that has turned dusty white, or bubbling, cracking and discoloration of the enamel finish.


  4. Damage caused by unauthorized modification, use, or repair.


  5. Damage made while the stove/insert/fireplace is in transit.


  6. Products for which the manufacturer provides a specific warranty.


  7. Travel time or any other expenses are not covered under warranty.

 

In no event shall Jøtul North America be liable for special, incidental or consequential damages. All implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a purpose, or otherwise, are limited in duration to the length of this written warranty. No oral or other written warranty is enforceable.

 

NOTICE - This warranty is void if installation or service is performed by someone other than a qualified installer, service agency or gas supplier, or if installation is not in conformity with installation instructions or local fire and building regulations.

 

NOTICE - Some states do not allow the exclusions or limitations of consequential damages, or limitations on the length of implied warranties.  Therefore, the above limitations may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights, which vary from state to state.

 

All warranty claims must be submitted through the authorized Jøtul dealer from whom the product was originally purchased.

 

 

Gas stoves, Inserts, and Fireplaces

Jøtul North America, Inc. offers the original retail purchaser of Jøtul gas-burning products a limited 5-year warranty on cast iron, the JøtulBurner™, and the steel firebox. Other gas components are covered by a limited 1 year warranty as described below. The following outlines the Jøtul Warranty programs. A copy of the warranty is included in each Jøtul stove/insert/fireplace, along with a warranty information card. You should encourage your customers to complete this card and return it to Jøtul as soon as possible.

 

Jøtul Limited Warranty

 

Cast Iron and Steel Components:

 

Jøtul North America, Inc. warrants, to the original retail purchaser, that the cast iron components, the JøtulBurner™, or the steel firebox of any Jøtul Gas Stove, Insert or Fireplace, will be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of five (5) years (parts and labor) from the date of purchase. Jøtul will repair or replace, at its option, any of those parts found to be defective.

 

Gas Components:

 

Jøtul North America, Inc. warrants, to the original retail purchaser, that the gas components (valves, thermocouples, thermopiles, plumbing, log set, and electrical parts) of any Jøtul Gas Stove, Insert or Fireplace, will be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year (parts and labor) from the date of purchase. Jøtul will replace any gas components, found to be defective. 

 

You must, at your own expense, arrange to deliver or ship the stove/insert/fireplace, or part thereof to an Authorized Jøtul Dealer and arrange for pickup or delivery of same after repairs have been made. This warranty does not include expenses incurred by travel time or loss of service.  If upon inspection, the damage is found to be the fault of the manufacturer, the repair or replacement will be made.  This warranty is not transferable and is extended only to, and is solely for the benefit of, the original retail purchaser of the stove. Please retain your dated sales receipt in your records as proof of purchase.

  5. Damage caused by unauthorized modification, use or repair.


  6. Damage incurred while the stove is in transit.


  7. Travel time or any other expenses are not covered under warranty.
