External Referral Bonus Program: Terms and Conditions
1 - Objective
The External Referral Bonus program (ERB) offers a one-time referral payment to participants
unaffiliated with Jøtul, to help Jøtul attract, hire, and retain the very best talent. Referrals are valid for 6
months from the date of submittal.
2 - Individuals not eligible for an external referral payment
The following people/entities are not eligible to participate in this program:
. Current Jøtul employees
. Staffing /recruiting agencies or consultants, or any employee or consultant of a third-party to whom
Jøtul is contractually obligated to pay a fee for the hiring of an individual referred by, or working for,
such third party.
. Individuals representing a business.
3 – Non-eligible candidates
You are not eligible for an external referral payment if the candidate you refer is a:
. Self-referral
. Candidate who has been referred by a current Jøtul employee
. Current applicant to Jøtul (if they have applied to Jøtul within the last 12 months)
. Recent or current contractor, temporary worker, payrollee, or consultant
. Former Jøtul employee or temporary worker
4 – Payment terms
Eligible participants shall be paid a one-time external referral payment in the sum of $250.00 (gross) if
the referral is hired and:
. Acknowledges he or she was referred by you
. Completes 60 days of continuous, active employment with Jøtul
. Is in good performance standing at the end of 60-day period
. Is actively employed by Jøtul at the time the external referral bonus is to be paid
If the referral is successfully hired by Jøtul, and meets the above terms, participant will be provided an
IRS W-9 form for completion.
Jøtul will process the external referral bonus within 30 days after receiving completed W-9 form.
Payments will be made on a 1099 basis and paid by company check from Jøtul.
5 – Process to refer candidates
Complete the referral coupon and present to candidate. Referrals submitted any other way, that do not
include all the required information, or that are not properly identified will NOT be eligible for this
Program.
6 - Tax Liability
External referral bonuses are paid pre-tax from Jøtul. You are solely responsible for paying
appropriate state and federal taxes on any payment received. Jøtul will report referral
payments to the appropriate tax authorities.
7- Additional information, rules and guidelines
. Positions qualified for the external referral bonus program are listed on Jøtul’s career page at
jøtul.com/careers
. In the event that more than one external person refers the same candidate, and such
candidate is hired by Jøtul, the external referral bonus will be awarded to the first referrer
based on the time stamp submittal. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old at the time you
make a referral to participate.
. You must reside in the United States and have a valid social security number to participate.
