Save up to $2,000 with the Federal Biomass Tax Credit

What is the Biomass Tax Credit?

The Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit allows homeowners to claim 30% of the purchase and installation costs (up to $2,000 annually) when they add a qualifying wood stove or fireplace insert to their primary residence.

  • Effective now through December 31, 2025
  • Credit applies to both the stove and installation costs
  • Qualifying products must meet or exceed 75% efficiency (HHV)

Why Act Now?

This tax credit will expire after December 31, 2025. To take advantage, your stove must be purchased and installed by year-end 2025.

How to Claim

  • Keep your sales receipt and installation paperwork
  • Qualified Manufacturer (QM) Number required when filing taxes for purchases made in 2025. (Jotul QM Number M8T2)
  • Ask your dealer for Jøtul’s Tax Credit Certification or download below
  • File using IRS Form 5695, or look under “Residential Energy Credit” in most tax software
